I'm not a homeowner there, but our 17 year old son is currently staying at Sea Mist Resort on the beach. School field trip from Florida, 300 kids from his high school alone. He said he doesn't notice anything different, but North Myrtle Beach sure looks near to the Sea Mist on the map! Anybody with more info please post?... I keep hearing about evacuations. Thank you

Hello Karen,

I live at Grande Dunes and everything here is pretty calm now. Sea Mist is in no threat as it is miles away from any fire and on the east side of the Intra-coastal Waterway. I hope this note assuages any fear or concern you have for your son.

All the very best,

JD Redmon

I spoke last nite with the NMB City Hall, and they have a map of fire damages, you can provide your address, and they can give you information. Their number is 843-280-5555.

Does anyone know the exact communities that were affected in Barefoot? I hear it was over by Dye, but not sure?

Denise,

Are you a Barefoot Resort Homeowner? The resort was undamaged, but the residential section west of Highway 31 lost 50 homes. If you are a Barefoot Resort Condo Owner, we have a group for you that gives updates.

The Dye Estates were not affected at all nor were any condo communities. The following communities suffered damage: Somerset, Bridleridge, Oak Pointe, Brookestone, Coquina Pointe, and Sweet Briar.
